Course description:

This program develops the skills and competencies necessary for entry level radiographer positions. Radiographers use their knowledge of science, human anatomy, and physiology to create medical images. Hospitals, imaging facilities, urgent care clinics, private physicians' offices, and other health care facilities provide employment opportunities for the radiographer graduate. The program provides many hands-on clinical experiences that allow the practical application of knowledge and prepare graduates for a professional career.

Entry requirements:

Applicants who apply for admission are considered on the basis of probable success as determined by: graduates of a Department of Public Instruction approved high school and who rank in the upper one-half of their graduating class will be considered for admission; graduates of non-approved Iowa high schools or have taken the General Education Developmental Test (GED) with composite score of 57 or above shall be considered for admission. Additional consideration may be given to scores on standardized examinations. They should have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, and have test scores on American College Test (ACT), with composite score of 20 or above; Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a score of 550. The General Education Development Test with a composite score of 57 is required for all applicants who have not graduated from an accredited high school. The High School curriculum includes English: 8 semesters (2 semesters must be in Composition), Mathematics: 6 semesters (2 semesters must be in Algebra), Science: 6 semesters (2 semesters must be in Biology) and Social Studies: 6 semesters. All the classes should have grade C or above.

Applicant must submit application online with a $50 non-refundable fee or they can print a copy and return by mail with application fee to the college. They should submit official transcripts from high school(s)/college(s) attended and GED, if applicable; written essay; academic or professional reference.
