Southern Illinois University ranks as one of the top public universities in Illinois. I was interested to go in for a PhD at a university with some reputation. SIUC fitted the bill as it grants a variety of doctoral degrees and strongly emphasizes research My program at the university was fantastic was very well structured and we had some really experienced faculty to guide us.
I got my visa from the Kolkata consulate. My scores at the time of applying were GRE 1190 and TOEFL- 300, Acads - 72 % in MS. My visa interview was smooth one tip for students iseven if u lie..look into the VOs eye...whether they are looking or not...it helps...
I had a Full waiver & stipend. This was very useful money and I could really focus on the academics without the financial worries.
The program as I said before was well structured with rich resource facilities.
